A bad day for us, is a great day for the racers..
First time in so long we had NO recovery to do before lunch.. Tick that one off the bucket list.
Wanaka for round 3 of the New Zealand Jetsprint held on 20th of January.
A group of us boarded a plane on Friday and off to Queenstown we went. Was a pretty good flight, weather was good, till we got to our accommodation, oh mate.
Race day started of ok, our Pushers turned up ready to rock and roll! then the wind picked up, and OMG that changed the game for us.. imagine wind gust blowing you over.. yip we had it, then add the spray of the water, a but chilly it was.
There was a bit of rain before lunch, but hey, it is an aqua track. One is expected to get wet.
The KRU with the assistance of an amazing bunch of people (pushers) had less then a handful of rescues to do, which was rather refreshing, definitely made up for the Whanganui round where we had every scenario one could imagine.
Engine shut downs, 2 beached is all we had. A great day for the racers!
